That’s actually what I thought as well. Though I started to like the idea of calling it the Xbox Entertainment System (XES).

Not in the States at least.

Exactly. It’s the only smartphone I have ever had that didn’t have the headphone jack up on top like my N4 has.

Not for me. I have Ubuntu on a ThinkPad T400 and a machine I built with a 6850 in it. Both work great, and while I wouldn’t ever try to game full time on either, they’re both capable of running Source games no problem.

Honestly never been a fan of KDE. This looks a little too gaudy for me, and I’ve gotten so used to how nicely Gnome Shell aligns with my use case, I’m not really very interested in this.

Yeah actually. I liked that thing a lot, and its kind of a shame that the DS came along and wrecked it. At this point though, for those kinds of games, my phone is a good enough emulator.

No joke, the First is actually a really nice looking device. Shame about the camera…

Wow the one in the train station looks unbelievably good. I’m actually pretty surprised the Nexus 4 is capable of taking something like that.

Wait, what exactly is wrong with the headphone placement? It’s on the top, like every other smartphone I’ve ever had (G1 excepted).

I want to try one in manual now. I’m not a pro driver by any stretch, but I need to know if the transmission really is that bad.

Yeah, the N4 is bordering on too big for me. I’m not manly enough to have huge hands, so I generally find that smaller devices feel more natural to me. The N4 makes up for it in device feel and software. I just don’t mind moving my hand around a little because the grippy sides make it plenty easy for me to do that, and the way my phone is set up, I don’t have to reach around for anything very often.

I agree, that’s a fine marketing spin.
Not sure it’s right though. My walls are 100% free of any adornment other than the white paint, and I prefer it that way. I don’t think it’s quite as fundamental to bring human as s/he is making it out to be.

The EVO felt too wide for me. I agree though that a phone similar to the dimensions of that one would be really nice. Maybe just a little narrower.

Of course not. You’re talking about the animation on the screen subtly lagging behind the movement of the finger. I don’t notice that at all on my Nexus 4, but I definitely notice a bit of lag on my iPhone 4 running iOS 6

AntennaPod is actually pretty good, but since checking out PocletCasts, I haven’t used it. It just has too many idiosyncrasies for me to continue using it.

This was using In stage am, but it’s proof that iPhone have phenomenal cameras, generally speaking.

I don’t have this issue at all on my N4, and I have owned iOS devices. My Nexus 4 is buttery smooth…honestly feels better than my iPhone 4 did near the end of its sad life.

Yeah…it’s one reason that, while I love watching and reading reviews, I really do take them with a few pounds of salt, and I never quite expect the opinions expressed to hold up over the course of a few months.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all if Apple’s patents were part of the reason things work the way they do on Android.

I mean, it isn’t amazing, but…I think for it just using the stock camera app and the branch moving around while I was trying to get the shot, it’s not bad. If I were actually a photographer, I would’ve probably focused it somewhere else and made the brick wall straight.

I didn’t mean the OS, I meant third party stuff. Obviously, Google’s apps, generally speaking, are beautiful and functional, but every once in a while, I find an app that STILL isn’t Holo, or one that just incessantly crashes. My experience on iOS was that there were fewer apps that had problems like that, though, as I said, Android has gotten significantly better since even my Droid X days, much less when I had my G1

1) Play Music needs a redesign. Badly.
2) The general quality of apps, while it has improved, still feels a little lower than my experience on iOS.
Runner up would be the new lockscreen widgets interfering with music controls on the lockscreen and glitching out all the time.

It doesn’t really matter. The issue is that his language indicates that he’s drawing a generalization from his experience with (as far as we can tell from his post) a single device, which is hardly logically justified.

I actually kind of like it, but I will echo what others have said about it not fitting the hardware at all.
I’ll be honest, I’m as tired of linen, glass and faux aluminum as much as the next guy, but…this doesn’t work all that well when it’s put into the context of the actual device.

That’s interesting. My Nexus 7 (16GB) is reporting 13.24 GB of usable space but my N4 is only reporting 12.9 and its the same capacity. My iPhone, like yours reported about 13.7. I wonder why two different 16GB devices running the same version of the same OS have different usable storage amounts.
