I’m not saying they need to update every 6 weeks, but if they don’t ramp up their releases, they’re just going to get further and further behind in having anything resembling standards.
I understand the corporate world dilemma and that’s fine, let them stay on 10 year old browsers, but MS is doing the world a disservice by standing by their past mistakes of non-standards support. Most casual users will just use IE and never update and it’s often times not easy to support the POS.
IE can only be usable if they start a MUCH more often update cycle. How can they expect to compete with browsers that update every 6 weeks by updating their product once a year at best?
Lastly, dump this compatibility mode crap. Go full standards mode and nothing else. I’m a web app developer and MS is trying too hard to fix their previously SHIT browsers. Just flip the switch and apps that aren’t compatible, oh well. The world will thank them.
I tried it today and it’s much worse in person. The pull up settings is FUGLY! Just downright hideous. The notifications look cool, but none of them are actionable. Calendar is the best looking app IMO.
