Consumers aren’t going to pick the system with no games.
Saying “no games” is incredibly drastic, but that aside, there’s a reason I typed “opportunity” and not “guarantee”. I’m just being cautiously optimistic.

We can’t really be sure about anything since it’s probably still ~5-7 months before we’ll know everything there is to know. Suffice it to say, I hope Sony makes the correct decisions.

It’s almost guaranteed that Sony will have similar requirements with its PlayStation 4, otherwise games publishers will see an opportunity to generate more revenue with the Xbox One and there will be no console war.
I’m not completely doubting that Sony will implement some new anti-piracy shenanigans, but saying there’d be no console war if they didn’t sort of seems like an oversimplification of the situation. The consumers do, after all, have a very large say in what is successful, and with a guaranteed lack of backwards compatibility, a new, more restrictive game sales system, and weird online requirements, I’ve spoken with some people that simply don’t see the benefit in an Xbox One over a PS4 at this point.
I feel like Sony has a huge opportunity here if they implement some less-drastic changes to the way PlayStation games are sold and played in the interest of piracy, used game sales, and DRM..

I can’t lose my onscreen buttons. It looks like I won’t get to replace my Galaxy Nexus until the Nexus 5 or whatever Motorola is cooking up, as they’re the only ones who seem to be jumping on the onscreen navigation button train.

I don’t know if he’s made his finances public, but he’s been very open about the fact that, as a filthy rich person, he wouldn’t mind the filthy rich getting taxed more heavily. Since, y’know, he’s filthy rich.
I wouldn’t put it past him to not have offshore accounts where he keeps piles of gold in a secret underground cavern. He’s always seemed like a “put his money where his mouth is” kind of guy.

Fair point, but most things I typically use IE for include news, and that’s pretty much it. And on a larger screen, the web interface is almost always superior, from my experience.
Google+ and Facebook notwithstanding, pretty much everything else I use has a very nice app to download.
And if Facebook would just let me have its new Newsfeed design that looks much nicer for touchscreens, I’d be a happy camper.

Not sure, since I don’t own either. I thought I remembered that 1-GB stat being the OS alone, without the full suite of stock apps.

doesn’t have enough tablet apps to be a good content consumption device.
What content do you consume that isn’t available on Windows 8 (or RT for that matter)? There’s been a lack of popular games, but really as far as news, movies, TV, music, etc.. it’s got pretty much everything, along with a desktop-class browser.

It must come bundled with another 6 GB of apps, then.
