It does do a handful of things very well. Setting alarms, timers, reminders are MUCH easier with Siri than manually entering this stuff. I use it daily for cooking, reminding me to send a bill, birthday reminders, to get a ticket when they go on sale.. It’s suprisingly nice for getting directions ‘How do I get to ________’ is much quicker than typing in an address, especially if you don’t know it. Perfect, not yet, but certainly a step forward.

The most interesting thing about the progression to 4K TV will be what happens on the media side. AKA, once you buy the thing, what will you watch? If ‘streaming is the future,’ the cable companies are going to become an even larger problem in the sense that we don’t have the bandwidth speeds to stream 4K effectively, and they don’t have much incentive to develop it in the first place because it directly competes with their own cable packages. They don’t want streaming to succeed. I think the only realistic way we will have 4K TV in the next 5-6 years would be through another physical format. Which I personally welcome (as someone who prefers blu-ray over digital when it comes to buying my movies.) At the very least, the innovation in physical media will push the cable companies to catch up.
TLDR – If streaming is the future, 4K is going to throw another huge curveball.
