I love how people just keep on funding these projects one after another, even though not a single one has proven itself yet. We haven’t even demonstrated the model as viable for game development, and yet there have been dozens of these things in the past couple of months.
I want it all to work out, especially because it could change the industry and revive worthy franchises that died due to niche interest or mismanagement. However, me wanting it to happen doesn’t change the fact we can’t point to a single success. Or failure. Or anything, except many instances of large amounts of money being collected on the back of nothing but a promise.
I would just consider letting one of these play out before deciding to fund a bunch more.
