It’s a shame that such an incredible service (and beautiful functional app) is run by such d-bags.

I wouldn’t even call Google+ a social network. It’s a blogging platform/RSS feed aggregator.
It’s mostly swamped by just businesses, Google employees, techies who just share links and nothing personal.

You shouldn’t put all your eggs in one basket.
- I use Facebook. They are the leader currently. Everyone who works at Facebook is trying to build a better social network. Once everyone gets the new newsfeed, you’ll understand, it’s really good. The mobile apps are slowly getting better as well. Facebook makes profit, so they’re incentivize to keep on crafting their service.
- I am an iPhone/iPad user. Apple has a team of brilliant people who work on hardware/software design and user experience. They make a lot of profit on their devices, so they’re not going to just stop making iPhones/iPads. But we won’t know, let’s say, HTCs future in Android.
- I use Google for search and email. They are the leaders in those two fronts.
I don’t get how people can be okay having EVERYTHING with one specific company. Google shut down Reader without any sympathy. Apple shut down MobileMe. But Google will never stop search, Facebook – social, and Apple with iPhone/iPad.
