Yeah, you’re right, a “Bing button”. The person who made this choice should be fired. And the next person to be fired is the one who made the choice to put the app’s search button on top and not among the buttons in the bottom bar.
So they put a search button… on top. Jeezus, what’s the point of having a dedicated search button on the phone if apps can’t take advantage of it :/ And then they add the search button on top, where on a bigger screen, say the 920, you can’t simply reach it with the thumb. Is it just me or is there anyone else seeing it this way?
I like the look of iOS, but I hate that important navigation controls are on the top. Obviously not designed with >4 inch screens in mind. The WP was a breeze of fresh air and a relaxation for my poor thumb, so I’m really sad to see the iOS’ drawbacks making it into the WP platform. I agree that the old app is somewhat poor and improvements are always welcome, but I would have preferred them to stick with the more ergonomic layout.
Worst presentation ever, it has no point, no message and very little substance. If they were talking to an audience of professionals, that must have been a huge disappointment.
