I disagree with Senator McCain on practically everything he’s ever said down to “I think I’ll have a ham sandwich for lunch,” but I agree with him on this whole-heartedly. Especially the sports blackout rule.

A private company called Clear is already trying this on an opt-in basis in the US. In exchange for a quick iris scan, their service will let you skip security in half a dozen American airports.
Clear does not let you “skip security”. It simply lets you cut to the front of the line to be body-scanned or groped.
An official program called TSA PreCheck does actually let you skip the intrusive security screening, if you’re flying on certain airlines and undergo a background check.
Important distinction.
