One of the reasons I went with an iPhone was the dock connector. It’s handy in places like the car, where you really can’t operate your phone anyway, but I’m realizing how annoying it is to set my phone down in a dock where I can’t use it. Bluetooth works better in that way. Or airplay, depending upon support. However I would kinda miss the line-out feature…

Yes, this. The text only becomes visible when you press the ellipses to expand the menu bar, too, so once you learn what an icon does, you’ll use them without needing to expand the menu/lose screen space.
