The question would then be why there are so many bandwagon bomb throwers here who ignored what Rhapsody and Microsoft and the like have been doing in this segment for years. I mean, this is supposed to be a tech blog, presumably with readers who are ahead of the curve. Not a marketing dump for whatever companies are considered cool at the moment.

Nobody is talking about suing Google because of issues their product might have in being widely adopted and accepted.

It may be preferable to your benevolent tech buddies at Google to never criticize anything they do lest you be labeled as “negative,” but I’m not sure that’s the best policy for everyone else.

Because those are not being marketed as a mainstream product, and do not even have the slight chance that something like Glass does of being widely adopted and thus used in that way.

The comments turned into a moronic fanboy shouting match, which is not surprising given the empty, trollbait, useless nature of the original piece— but that aside I wonder if the ecosystem fragmenting due to the kernel change has anything to do with this. It’s not exactly like it’s unified any longer, and to be honest some slowdown should be expected after pretty much splitting your base in two.
However, the notion that a 50% slowdown is plateauing or up “only slightly” is pretty crappy analysis. There’s no reason to think it should be exponentially increasing.

Normal people probably have a higher tolerance for what’s “disgusting” than your typical perpetually angry gamer on the internet.

You talk about someone being pretentious, but then you go and play arm chair psychiatrist on the internet. People like you who are so full of themselves and think they have all the answers are just the worst.

Blowing up civilians intentionally with improvised explosives in order to sow political discord seems a little more cowardly, but that’s just me.
