The OEM grip for the 7D is mag alloy, while most aftermarket ones will most likely be plastic.

I suppose I could offer some constructive criticisms here. Umm… very overexposed, lots of things blown out. The straw going off the frame is a distracting tension point. The background really has no purpose, doesn’t give the subject a sense of environment.
However, I think what you really ought to do is to point that camera at a more interesting subject :P

Love the pattern and colour of the clouds. Like others have mentioned, there’s that foliage on the right that’s in the way. Compositionally, I think this where rules are meant to be broken. A third of the frame being a black silhouette probably wouldn’t look as good as this. Well done.

Definitely looks fantastic in large. Still, I would have cropped just a tiny bit closer (maybe 10% off the top and right?)

I used to own one until the 5D came out — I sold it to help fund that 5D.
A couple things to keep in mind when buying a used film camera (depending on if I have the time, I may write a separate guide on this subject in these forums):
1. You’ll have to take the seller’s word for the number of shutter actuations, there’s practical way for you to verify. The EOS 3 is rated for 100k. Keeping that in mind….
2. The EOS 3 was produced from 1999 to 2007. The year a particular camera was made could give you clues about its use…. or it might not. You should ask a lot of questions though.
3. If you’re buying online, I’d probably only look at the LN, LN- EX+ and EX listings on KEH. Otherwise, I’d go for a face-to-face deal.
That said however… do you really want to spend $300+ on a film SLR these days? Here’s me trying to talk you out of it:
1. Sure, it’s weather sealed to some degree. That’s something that’s to have in adverse conditions. Keep in mind though that o-rings fail over time as dust gets between the sealing interface, and labyrinth seals only afford so much protection. You can get one in better knick (LN, LN-), but you’d have to pay more.
2. It’s got a fancy AF system, but it’s 3.3FPS—7 if you can find the battery grip for it (more $$$$). At 7 FPS, you’re scrolling through a roll every 5 seconds. But let’s face it, your intentions for this camera is likely not fast action. The eye-control and extra go of the AF is more of a cool thing to show your friends rather than something that will really help you grab that shot over, let’s say an ELAN 7N. Speaking of that…
3. You can find an excellent condition ELAN 7N at a third of the price of an EOS 3. Why not treat yourself to a couple of nice steak dinners instead, or put that money towards another optic—which is probably the largest determining factor of image quality when shooting film…probably. Well, maybe the medium is the bottleneck if you’re comparing cheap Wal-Mart colour print to a premium slide. So maybe put some of the money you’d save towards buying awesome film?
Oh, and remember to buy me a beer as well :P

Nice compo, and I light the lighting. Those skin tones and their colours are pretty awkward though.

His forehead and the background are almost blending together. This is one case where abusing that clarity slider might be a good idea.

On compo: I would have taken a few steps to the left, shot maybe from 2-3 feet lower.
On subject: I feel that it lacks drama.
I feel like an eye-level, straight-on shot like this is very representative of what we see every day. Without a dramatic perspective, you have to rely on dramatic subject matter to carry the image. Sadly, this has neither.
Sorry :(

Since you’re shooting with a T2i, the 17mm is really the only TS-E that’ll get you a wide FoV. Even then, it’ll be like shooting with a 28mm in 135 format. It’ll be alright for architecture, but you won’t be able to put any filters on it due to its bulbous head. You’d be severely handicapping yourself for any serious landscape work.
My advice is to avoid wide-angle L lenses for crop sensors as they’re really designed more with full frame in mind. Try renting the EF-S 10-22mm and getting a LEE GND kit.
