I bought an unlocked nexus and they are doing all except the first. And as long as I don’t abuse the built in hotspot I can tether and they won’t charge me for it.

I think we need to approach these the same way we approach normal credit cards today. Create a standard medium, like current magnetic strips, and let everyone innovate using that medium. As long as I can use the same nfc antenna in my phone to work with any number of apps and any number of readers at the store I’ll be happy.

I’m filing this away with ultraslim desktops and all in one pcs in the folder of unnecessarily small devices. Why does my dvr ever need to be slim? Why does my desktop need to try to be portable? Space under my tv is not at a premium and I don’t need to pay a premium to save space.
