There are also plenty of other examples of unjustified police behavior in relation to public recordings. A quick Google search should yield plenty of results — like this one.

While the police officer in this video appeared courteous and did not disrupt the citizen’s recording, as I understand it, he nonetheless violated the rights of this individual — by requiring him to present identification. As the officer says, the man was well within his right to carry a firearm, and furthermore, it appears that the person was merely walking on the street (not operating a vehicle, which carries different rules for ID requests).
The officer had no right to demand identification under California law, and should have respected the citizen’s preference not to provide it.

True enough — soldiers must waive some rights when enlisting in order to be governed by the Uniform Code of Military Justice. But this does not waive all constitutional rights.

Police have no “higher rank” than private citizens when it comes to the constitution. The beautiful thing about the bill of rights is that it applies to everyone!
