I just bought an Ivy Bridge ultrabook, but only because the deal was too good. I bought the envy 4 14" from best buy because they had it for a daily deal. 499$ for a i5 3317u touchscreen ultrabook with 3 usb ports and ok battery life (5 hours).

1.5 hrs screen time, 15 hrs of the device being on and 30 percent remaining. I hear battery life complaints from both ios and android users alike. Mine seems to vary greatly with signal strength, but I can almost always make it through a day.

You make it sound so black and white. No macbook offers a touchscreen for instance. So yes, most pcs fall short of the macbook in one area, but you can’t say it’s above all else because it too falls short of its competition in different areas. It really depends on what you need in a laptop or ultra portable. In this case though I think the verge made a fair comparison in this article.

I hope AMD can become more competitive in the high end cpu market. If they don’t I fear intel’s monopoly could inflate the prices even further. I mean look at what intel has done to compete with arm, if only AMD could match performance and maintain a lower price.

No, this makes sense. Htc released an upgrade their phone within 2 months and then completely forgot the previous iteration existed.
