I still think a visual indicator is needed to help users. Working on an Xbox Music render that utilizes this visual cue.

1) Agree, Segoe WP is the prettier of the fonts. Use that, especially on Tiles and headings. I’d like to see subheadings use CAPITILIZATION to differentiate, my self.
2) I think the scroll bar is necessary for mouse users but it has no place for touch users. I don’t have a Windows 8 touch device though so I can’t comment on whether the scrollbar appears for touch users.
3) Start screen backgrounds CAN work, if a transparent overlay is used correctly.
4) A Metro icon set should be standard, or at least an option. Users need to adjust at some point.

That’s sliding menu in Android is far too cumbersome. I don’t want the Listen Now page but rather I just want my collection to be immediately shown. And some lingering issues, like the aforementioned Music Manager and the inability to offload single songs, are hurting this service/

I often find Reddit to be that sort of website, where I can find users who have similar interests as mine. And Reddit has almost everything and everyone, whereas Google+ doesn’t.

If I have to wait for a 20 second advertisement to stutter and buffer while missing a live event, then maybe the the video player isn’t achieving it’s main objectives: to actually work.
I get advertising and whatever, but this video player isn’t worth it

The collapsed app bar allows for accessible settings without full app bar commands. The expanded app bar still can house features not present on the collapsed bar, like song info and other items.
This is somewhat modeled off Zune too, so we’re drawing from a common well of inspiration.

This won’t change anything for me about Google+, because I’ve tried before to use it but there’s nothing there. The only thing that I see most times is Scoble, and reading too much Scoble is dangerous. It’s anathema to my very soul.
So no, this isn’t switching me to Google+, which puts me at odds with many of Google’s new product launches which all are deeply integrated with Google+. Hmph.

I personally refer my 25 gigs of Skydrive storage, in terms of user interface, accessibility, and built in functionality (Word 2013 with Skydrive is amazing), but to each his own.
I never got into Google Drive but good for them.

I’m sorry but did you look at the post? The taskbar is unviersal, and the Start Screen is an overlay that appears when you need it. I don’r like the Stardock approach but that’s my opinion.

Everything is pinnable in this concept, but not everything is shown in this screen. Thanks for commenting!

Exactly my reasoning. It just makes sense and sometimes users need commands at hand, not hidden away from sight

I’m still working on the list view for the music, and I’m making that better for playlists (it will utilize drag and drop or maybe some sort of radial menu). The elipsis is acually on the top right, as well, so it may look out of place but I’m pretty sure it isn’t.
As for the negative space, could you expand on that? Thanks for your input!

Exactly what I used it for. If you needed a local business’s number, it was perfect.

For a service that’s been relatively stagnant for years, how hard would it have been for Google to keep it running? There is no new development going on for the product, so resources aren’t an issue. It just seems disingenuous to claim that this was taking up so many resources that Google could use elsewhere.

I rely on this service almost daily, I can’t understand how this would be diverting Google resources from other projects seeing as it’s fairly easy to maintain. But I guess if it’s not Google Plus, it doesn’t matter to Google.
I’m bitter guys.

This was largely disingenuous. Google Glass’s functionaltiy isn’t on par to do anything new or revolutionary, Google Glass is far more cospicuos in recording and capturing purchaes, the Engdaget review claimed that Glass doesn’t fold up and go into your pocket, people have th epower to put phones in their pocket and not be captivated with them 24/7, Glass doesn’t solve any new problems but creates new ones, large phones are cumbersome but aren’t the norm and still can be out away, and I can leave my phone and actually have a conversation.
Thanks for trying to distort my argument to fulfill your personal and unrealistic fantasy, though.
