Ugh, typical. Any talk about a new wireless standard and “you will blow through your cap in seconds” comments show up. All this will do is allow you to waste less time waiting for a loading bar. If you use that time to access more content or use the speed on higher data content (videos, etc…), that is a choice. Simply having the higher speeds will not make your cap get hit faster if you use it like you did before.

For your first point, people are mad over something they don’t understand. Microsoft could have done way better explaining it. Microsoft is moving to an all digital game system. When you buy the disk, it is purely a form of getting it to your console. Since you don’t need the disk to play a game, the 24 hour check is to unsure didn’t give it to all of your friends to install on their consoles as well. Also, don’t you think the initial price of a game will go down if they get money for resale and an assurance it won’t be pirated? Look at Steam. Also, I am pretty sure MS is applying the same situation to downloads as well, making them well ahead of Sony in that area.
If they would have explained it better, the issue would be a lot smaller. As for how to deal with spotty Internet, they could allow you to insert the game disc to allow it to be authenticated for awhile (the next time it would need to be authenticated could be a week later…

Some of these I don’t expect Apple to ever implement, but here it goes:
Activator (the most two useful I use it for are hold the home button to go to the last app I used a hold volume up or down to skip or go to previous song)
Shake to undo killer
Ability to hide apps I don’t use (SBSettings)
Kill background (kills all apps in switcher, let’s you whitelist apps)
Plugication (starts playing music when you plug in headphones)
The only one I couldn’t live without is activator. It makes my iPod Touch actually a worthwhile media player with physical controls. I have the 4th gen though so I won’t be getting iOS 7 (one year after I bought it I already wasn’t getting all the features due to shear laziness on Apple’s part, so I figured it was coming).

Until they said “film” in the last sentence I didn’t know. I actually had to read the sentence again to make sure I read it correctly.

No, WP sales do not prove that. There are way to many variables to conclusively say that the look is the sole reason why WP is failing.

I read an article recently where moving from Symbian to Windows Phone has cut down on their development time so much. I imagine Android would increase that. It is safe to assume that as soon as things start picking up and they get healthy revenue they will diversify and pick up Android.

Definitely agree with you. If they got rid of the white on most of the icons it would look better. Also, if they removed the gradients a shifted to something like the phone or messaging app (no white background, no gradient).

Talk about reaching lol. “WHAT IF I GO TO A CABIN?!” Get real.
Talk about reaching lol. “WHAT IF I GET CAUGHT IN A HURRICANE?!” Get real.
I heard both of those. I fail to understand why going to a cabin prevents you from having internet for a quick spot check. I also fail to understand what you are doing in a hurricane playing video games. In both situations your phone can have internet for a quick spot check. Get real…

That definitely should be how it is: require the disk if there is no internet after a day. The disk could tell if the game had been installed at on a different console with a different Live account.

Am I not understanding something correctly? Online costs $9.99 on the PS4 and $5 (if you get it for a year).

Interesting. Online will cost twice as much per month (if you buy by the year for Xbox), but out of the gate the PS4 is $99 cheaper (not including the price if you want a Camera).

Where are you getting the $500 figure? He would save $100 because that is the price difference between the Xbox One and the PS4.
