From what I have read on the acquistion, the merger has to be approved by the U.S., U.K, Israel, and China’s governments. I do not know how these countries were chosen, but that is what I have read. It probably has to do with these countries are major markets and they get the final say if their still can be competition or not, but I am not sure.

Ya, I think it makes more sense to put all the toggles and controls and put it into the pull down. Maybe have pages up their, one for notifications and one for “widgets”, maybe dub it dashboard.

I still don’t understand why for the iPhone it isn’t the same as the iPad. Why can’t I lock it in landscape? Landscape lock seems to be the only useful orientation that actually needs a lock.

It is an entry level phone. This is not a flagship phone like the One X. Not every single person wants to buy a $200-$300 phone and pay for lots of data.

Every time I read a comment that says this, this is my reply. I read a cool article on the verge forums that claimed the SGSIII was designed by lawyers. It has weird angles on the side, the margins on the top and bottom are different sizes. etc…

To be fair, that has a slanted lip right below the soft keys, and in the second iteration it is flat like the 710. (Sorry to nitpick, but at least to me, it changes the look of the phone. It does, however, keep the same design language and general design the same.)

At first glance, it does, but with Nokia written on the top, I changed my mind.

I wonder why they have a 1.2 GHZ s4 instead of a 1.5 GHZ like all the other s4 phones have. If they price this phone more then the AT&T One X with that has more impressive specs, you know you priced it wrong.

It is a Snapdragon S4 with a clock of 1.2 GHZ. (Which is weird since all the other phones that have it are clocked at 1.5 GHZ, probably to save costs since this should be a mid tier phone.)
(source – http://www.androidcentral.com/htc-droid-incredible-4g-lte-specs -) Also, from a look at the specs, this would be a great phone priced at $100 or so, but $300 is rediculous. It still is a good phone, but on contract price seems too high like it said in the article.

I agree, the competition created is a good thing. I don’t understand how people don’t get this when they rage against each other calling each other names and saying x company copied y company, they all probably have done it at one time that leads up to z product. It benefits them no matter who does it first. The only reason they have to get mad is if they actually work there, then they have a reason to root for a specific side.

Currently, I am not fascinated with their tablets. I am definately liking their computers from what I have seen. I wonder if they will make windows 8 tablets. (Not a fan of windows 8 on laptops and desktops, I think a really good gesture system for trackpads would make it do able, kinda like what Apple has with the magic trackpad and their built in gestures, scrolling, etc. is so much eaiser.)

Well, if you consider the fact that to use the App Store, you first have to buy $200+ device, it isn’t marginal. Say you buy an iPhone, they make $400 on your purchase, (assuming Apple sells to the carriers the same $600ish price as consumers.) you would have to buy $400 of apps to break even with IPHONE sales. It requires the hardware that nets more revenue then all of Microsoft, that puts it into perspective with what it has to go against.

Looks promising from what they gave us so far. I like the rewind camera feature, just hope it doesn’t kill the battery. Also, I wonder how many full apps will run in the background.

I think it is going to be called the iPhone 4G or iPhone. (The only thing I am saying it won’t be is the iPhone 6, of the two, iPhone 5 would be more likely because it would confuse the userbase, going from 4S to 6, probs just call it the new iPhone to line up with the iPad anyways.)
