The old Mac ads didn’t portray any user. It portrayed the OS or computer, the Mac vs. Windows. They never insulted the user. If you felt insulted you have no idea how those commercials worked.

There were some ads when they gasp brought in a user trying to pick between the Mac and PC.

One of my favorite “where they have no idea” commercials, were the “I am a PC”, a direct ad against the Mac vs. PC, in which “real” people yelled “I am a PC”, they didn’t get the Apple commercials either.

Right, just like the exclusive Halo 2 made Windows Vista a roaring success compared to Windows XP. MS likes to repeat themselves.
