Really? It was plastered before any Youtube videos I watched or Twitch streams I turned on.

This is super disappointing. I might have been one of the few, but I loved Amalur. Generic setting aside, the combat and general gameplay was everything I wished Skyrim would be.

I don’t write at The Verge, but I do develop for it!
I currently use this:

But when I have two monitors side by side (such as at home), I use this pair of wallpapers:

I actually know many engineers who work nearly exclusively on laptops. Not because they don’t have access to a 30" screen (in fact, several of them have a 30" Dell LCD right behind the laptop), but because they find that they can more easily focus on just the laptop.
I don’t personally work like that (I like my screens big and bright to accomodate a ton of split windows in emacs), but screen size isn’t everything.
And there definitely have been times where I’m on the go somewhere with just an iPad, and wish that I could make a quick edit to some code.
Anyway, YMMV.

We’re aware that some images with relatively small dimensions have a disproportionately large file size. Unfortunately, image compression is a relatively complex process if we want to compress each image optimally. We want to preserve The Verge’s magazine feel as much as possible — and that includes high quality photos and images. That said, 250kb for a 300×250 image is obviously too large. It’s something we’re working on.
You don’t to put all images into a single CSS sprites. CSS sprites are primarily used as a method to cache multiple images calls into one request — but that’s not possible if the sprite is constantly changing. It is a good idea to commonly used image assest into a single sprite, and something that we should look into, but there are be any significant size savings or speed gains by putting other article specific photos into a sprite.

This game is pretty sweet. Kind of a cross between Katamari, Rampart, and a roguelike.

Did you have a chance to try the D800 in a situation like this? A shoot where resolution detail is important, and light is generally ample.
I imagine that shooting the enterprise fly by is in some ways similar to shooting wildlife with a long prime, and I’ve always thought that the D800 might excel in that situation.

The service leapt from 6 million monthly active users on Facebook to a peak of around 14 million. And then, in just the last thirty days, it has plummeted, falling to around 8 million. Zuckerberg giveth, and he taketh away.
What actually happened? Did Facebook revoke their OpenGraph access?

I loved the atmosphere of the Witcher 2, and the graphics. I liked that the narrative didn’t shirk from reality, much in the way that Game of Thrones doesn’t shirk away from the realities of war.
But I simply could not get comfortable with the fighting. Things like laying traps and using the cryptically named abilities sounded cool when I read about them, but in practice, felt awkward.

What alphacheeze said above is relevant too, and also sad:
We’ve got a plane that first flew in the 1960s, escorted by a jet that first flew in the 1950s carrying a spaceship that first launched in the 1980s.
