So so true. You simply cannot beat Spotify’s playback IMO. 320kbps streams, near instant stream starts and gapless playback. MOG is good too, but sounds the same as Spotify.
I used to care about this stuff on Rdio, but I am using these services for the music, not to look at the UI all day. Spotify can certainly use some improvements, but it is perfectly usable and they keep getting better every day (at least I think so, don’t listen to the whiners in the Spotify forum).
What is important here though is that the web elements of the desktop are only in browsing, not in playback. The native playback allows for gapless playback and very fast response times. Playback is where Spotify shines – songs start immediately and have great sound quality (320kbps vbr ogg).
I can’t say I’ve had any slowness problems with the new client and overall I like it better than before.
