Exactly, I’m still wondering how Spotify became so much more popular than rdio. The latter is clearly the better product in my book: Outstanding UI in mobile, desktop and web apps, frequently updated, useful social features that aren’t annoying, collections, album-centric approach, search and view by label (underrated, but big feature).
German here. Unless you live in a city, satellite is the de facto standard – and in terms of pay tv it’s the better option too. Sky has more HD channels via satellite.
It’s easy – there are cable tuners and satellite tuners, all receivers on the market including those provided by sky come in these two flavors. So that’s the only decision you’d have to make. Pay tv is enabled via common interface that takes your smartcard and you should be fine. I really don’t see why Microsoft couldn’t have integrated the tuner and CI into the xbox. I certainly won’t run two boxes to watch TV.
