A very short piece of plastic pipe lacks a firing pin, hammer and triggering mechanism. Put all that together and I’d call it a gun, no matter how you smith it.

Barriers to entry.
In 1573 it was really hard to make a book.
In 2013 you can buy a $30 printer, $5 stapler and a $3 ream of paper. Plug it into the computer you already own, and print out your book. It’s lower quality and everyone would prefer the nice, well bound, book, but you can do it if you want.

Given that your assessment is accurate (a statement with which I do not concur), the newton had to happen so that people could say what didn’t work and why. Palm had to happen to say, here’s what it could have done better. Pocket PC had to happen so that we could see it in color and with familiar apps and network connectivity. All of these mediocre jump points along the line to the “smart phone revolution” had to happen. It’s refinement of a concept.
I would say that google glass steps to the line at the Pocket PC stage of my timeline o’ progress. Other cludgey worn tech has come before and this is the most elegant piece we’ve seen to this point, both in design and (based on the reports) function. Is it the iPhone of wearable tech? (as in a design for the masses that will get people in the door and open up opportunities for other designs to be accepted) Unlikely, but it’s a step in the right direction. One I’m excited to try first hand.

except that with GT5, they still managed to create cars and environments that looked like they were a direct port from the PS2

GT5 was trash. A major letdown. Much sadness.

Thank you for bringing sense to the discussion.
The timeline seems unreasonable. If they want to play nice, give MS a longer timeframe than 1 week. If they want to play hardball… block the app’s access to the API.

I was an enjoyable movie. Don’t let the negative folks keep you from seeing it. Ben Kingsley is the man.

no, it’s not a subscription. It’s a rental. You rent an antenna.

Spot on. My reaction at first was “well done ABC, that’s how your respond to Aereo” but including the cable sub as a requirement defeats the purpose. Why not simply have a way of confirming address and that it’s in a service area?

THERE JUST ISN’T A REASON WHY COPYRIGHT SHOULD BE IN A TRADE AGREEMENT LIKE THIS.
Sure there is. If you can’t get something done legislatively then just throw it in a treaty. Despicable, frankly, but not the first instance of this.
