I’m not a sports guy, but it always surprises me how many guys stream sports on their phones at work. I stream music all day and I use 2 gigs a week on my unlimited plan with tmo so I can only imagine how much data they are using.
With that said, I think the most telling part of this story is the last line about a significant number of people reaching their caps. The use of smart phones has changed so drastically in the last few years and Verizon and AT&T shut off their unlimited plans at just the right moment before people realized how much data they would use and now tracking your data usage is the norm.
Instead of ESPN asking to pay for data, they should be lobbying the carriers to bring back unlimited plans so their customers aren’t constricted when they want to access ESPN’s content.

Agreed that realism is important in games like CoD and MoH, but no…you can’t make the leap that this is anyone’s attempt at gun control. It’s a pathetic PR move. But to your final point…c’mon. really? you don’t ban cars, you put regulations in place to make them safer, and laws in place to punish those who use them recklessly…your slippery slope argument is tired.
