I agree that this, more than anything else, will curb Tumblr’s appetite for porn.

With that said, there’s a lot of user-generated, and user-remixed, porn on the site. So it might still make a legitimate go of it on its own once all of the copyrighted material is taken down.

Indeed. The earlier stories on this seemed to indicate that Microsoft was just going to spit in their users eyes by bringing back the Start button, but only making it a link to the Start screen, and not making it work like the XP/Vista/7 Start menu.

If they do something like that in 8.1, they will well and truly have f*cked themselves, as that kind of a move is a deliberate insult.

I agree with you on the source of much of the crap-mongering.

It’s rather like those poor people who felt very strongly that the world was going to end two years ago on May 21, 2011 after Harold Camping’s prophecy of the same.

When May 22nd came, it was a painful sight to behold the gyrations those poor deluded folk went through to justify their previously fervent belief.
