You are just playing with words… You full well know he means that it’s more considered stealing if the person does something to take that thing that they know is yours or isn’t theirs!
There is stealing and then finding. You can be a douche after finding, doesn’t change wheter you found or stole the thing that you now have in your possession.

The comparison you made would be like if this Nelson dude found the phone, keeped the girl’s SIM in and gave her crazy phone bills/roaming charges/whatever.

I can remember my friends just going crazy about the new taskbar in W7, how it was the dumbest thing ever, how they just had to find a way to get back to the old way !
