It’s funny because this has been the third-partier mantra for the last three elections and everyone just calls them crazies.

Late reply, but…
I saw that table, and my suspicions were confirmed, same SKU for both T-Mo and AT&T version.
I also saw the flashing thread, but apparently it doesn’t actually enable HSDPA on AWS, but this is just anecdotal. No one has actually tested it.

Actually, no one has said that T-Mo is getting a different SKU then AT&T or the unlocked version. I am still trying to figure out if T-Mo has a special SKU that uses HSDPA on their AWS network. I have seen nothing to suggest that they do.

Those same people are spending their parents money, so meh, whatever. Let their hubris deal with itself.

It supports T-Mo’s HSPA on their 1900 network, but not their AWS bands, which is a significant chunk of their 3G infrastructure. Check to see what they have deployed in your area before picking one up for T-Mo, otherwise you have to wait for their LTE rollout to get 4G speeds.

I think a lot of people who will be buying this are midway through an upgrade cycle. Let’s say they bought the One X or GS3 last year and want this one now. You can pay 450 +tax from the carrier (Early upgrade price), or you can pay 575 out the door and save ~12 months of contract extension.
I plan to buy the One now, and when T-Mo actually rolls out LTE in my area, switching over to their plan which will cost me 35 dollars less every month. So, even with the ETF I will have to pay, doing it this way pays for itself in six months as opposed to waiting a year for a discounted upgrade on a more expensive carrier.
