That has nothing to do with whether they can give a device away for free with subscription or not. The point is, if there is no profit, there is no cash to give something else away. I wasn’t commenting on their overall business strategy, just that their strategy doesn’t leave a whole lot of wiggle room for subsidizing a device. Especially a device that would have a cost that, even if cheap, would be a large percentage of the annual prime cost.
There is no definitely about it. You do realize the money you pay for prime already covers a ton of other stuff. For a company that is barely eeking out a profit, you are basically assuming that prime has 25-35% profit margin on the subscription that they could and would eat into in order to give you a free device. Sorry, not happening.
