In my experience, it charges but not constantly. It will flick off and on which damages the battery over time.

Thank you! I had meant to when I originally posted, but it was during when The Verge was having lots of technical problems.

He is extremely talented. I think he has a lot of growth opportunity when it comes to learning about proportion and proper use of space (I’m a designer/developer by trade) and when those skills match his creativity – watch out.

I have a Lumia 920, and my experience is that a) the wireless charger is at least 20% slower, b) my battery doesn’t seem to last as long during the day and c) if you don’t get it on the plate exactly right, it doesn’t charge correctly.
I know (b) is highly subjective, but it definitely feels like I’ve lost a few hours of light use time during the day, though I still generally can last 14+ hours on a charge.

My DSi that freezes at least once a day and shuts off in sleep mode would disagree with you.

Yes of course. The WP7 → WP8 was a unique situation in that they were fundamentally changing the underlying OS. (Theoretically, all WP7 can run WP8 anyway, but they don’t want the risk of bricking.) All phones on WP8 should be capable of WP8.1, WP9, etc. as long as they don’t go making kernel changes again.

You should wait for the next Lumia to drop and buy it off-contract (usually ~$500). Then you can switch to a prepaid plan, save some serious bank and have flexibility if you ever want to change carriers.
Your current phone will last you at least to the Fall, since 7.8 is still getting some updates.

What? They didn’t just DDoS everyone. They were able to get past firewalls and whatever other security was in place to grab user information, classified documents, etc.

Seems like they did a very poor job of covering their tracks. You’d think with the sophistication of their attacks, they’d be better at it.

He likened this potential free-experimentation zone to Burning Man and said that we need “some safe places where we can try things and not have to deploy to the entire world.”
I mean the Chinese government gets to do that all the time, so why not Google? :-P

Simply put, they need to bring the Zune branding back. It was the most dynamic, beautiful and interesting implementation of Metro I’ve seen yet. It made me WANT to play with the software.
That being said, I think the closest applications to that are those in Office 2013 right now. They could be more de-cluttered, but they feel more Zune-y than Windows 8 does.
