I have loved technology for a while and I often create documents for how to do things on a computer. I always love reading about technology, and cannot wait to read it here.

I don’t think this is change for change’s sake. This is Jony Ive. The iPhone 4 design is timeless and so he continued it with the iPhone 4S and tweaked some things to make it even better with the iPhone 5 (but basic overall shape is the same). He doesn’t make a change for change’s sake unless it is an improvement.

Should it be different for Apple?

When will people get it? Web apps are much harder to find than App Store apps. It doesn’t matter if Google has a web app. It doesn’t work as well as a native app would work, and it isn’t as easy to find as it would be on the App Store.

The Verge should create their own then (easier said than done, I know).

OK. My specific problems with it:
1. The font used is tiny and hard to read. Not just with the video time, but also with the share and embed buttons. You need to make buttons easy to read universally, and these just aren’t. I also think that the share and embed buttons could do with some bigger icons—the icons now are tiny.
2. Not a fan of the shine used on the buttons and selectors that appear once you enter either the share or embed section. Shine can look nice when used properly, but it isn’t here. The shine is glaring, and makes the buttons look old, and ugly. I also don’t like the color of the buttons when you hover over it. The reddish/blackish gradient just doesn’t work. Again, it looks old and ugly. I kind of think the buttons should get a makeover, with new colors as well.
3. The Facebook and Twitter buttons are the old style buttons. Preferably, The Verge would use same color icons for Facebook and Twitter (easy to create on your own). At the very least The Verge should update the icons to the new Facebook logo and the new Twitter logo (that old one used on the button hasn’t been used in years, and is technically breaking Twitter’s guidelines).
4. Some other minor things, like how there are a few rows of light grey pixels above the first item in the selector. Or how the color of the progress bar is also that bad reddish/blackish gradient. The video player is also just too cluttered while watching a video. Some options just don’t have to be there.

Design of the video player still pretty crappy, but interesting concept.

Nothing has come up for me and other people I know. I think this might be a custom song that Apple created just for this ad. They have done it before.
