Apple sets the standard, and the cheap Taiwanese computer manufacturers follow. And all the sheep buy the cheap stuff because the secretly want an Apple but can’t afford it.

I bought the non-elite 50" 5020 model in January 2009 for $2300. Money well spent. Best Buy / Magnolia was lopping off $500 or so at the time. Pioneer bailed out of the market a few months later.
The only problem I have with the unit is that it makes a buzzing sound when the screen is at full brightness. I guess this is a problem with all plasmas, though, from reading through other message boards.

The 135mm f2 L lens is redundant given that he has the 100 f2.8 macro. The 135mm’s usefulness is for (1) portrait shooting and (2) low-light telephoto work.
(1) is already covered by the 100 f2.8. I can vouch that it’s wonderful for portraits.
(2) is already covered by the fact that the 5D II and III ISO can be bumped up for low light, and the telephoto range can be attained by simple cropping (which is fine given how many megapixels are available on those cameras).

That is exactly why Counting Crows is in favor of file-sharing. They’re a washed-up, unpopular band, and they get no airplay. So of course they are in favor of any means that gets them heard by more people who in turn may buy their music.
You don’t see popular bands in favor of file-sharing because they get enough publicity, air-play, and mind-share, so they don’t need to give away their work for free to make money.

Why do you keep posting these inane assertions that people can make do with a USB-to-ethernet adapter? Just stop embarassing yourself, ok?

Looks like you don’t have a real job where you use the network. I am using my MacBook Pro as an engineer right now, where I use the gigabit ethernet to attach to our corporate OC3 line that surpasses the bandwidth of whatever consumer ISP you are using. I regularly have to ship media over the network to partners around the globe.
There are lots of companies using MBP for engineering and other professions. Lots of engineers at Google use MBP, for example.
Just because you are in college and/or do not have a real job does not mean that there is no need for gigabit ethernet on a MBP.

Who cares? Lots of major companies delete emails. For example: Enron, Lehman Brothers, and News Corp. Are you going to say these companies had something to hide? You sound like an Apple fanboy.

I have an Apple Thunderbolt Display. It is gorgeous. My previous monitor was a 24" Dell 2407 that I bought several years ago running at 1920×1200. This monitor is 2560×1440 and is huge. I know there are 30" 2560×1600 monitors out there, but their external dimensions seem a bit too big for my desk..

This is NOT about employees accessing Facebook during work. This is about employers asking job candidates for their passwords during the interview process so that the employees can purportedly filter out candidates based on their off-work behavior.

You really think that’s a nice bag? Nothing says “student” or “blogger” (as opposed to “professional” or “journalist”) than a bicyclist messenger bag. Get something from Tumi, Ernest Alexander, Mulberry, or Salvatore Ferragamo if you’d like to be considered an adult with an adult job.
