Obama said the other day that he “welcomes the debate” and all I say to that “like hell he does”. If he really did he wouldn’t have had it all hushed up before it was leaked.

I agree. And I am sure this wasn’t some sort of “mistake”. I bet they spent ages thinking about it.

Think you may be looking in hope but I agree that they seriously need to sort this out and expect better cross app communication.

If it is a white background it reduces the argument for OLED screens which is a bonus argument with apple.

We’ve already heard about Flickr and Vimeo so it could just be an expansion of Photostream type integration hooked up by the two providers

I hope it’s not the settings screen on Neowin. It’s better but basically a boring skin

WSJ sometimes seems like a press release outlet for the company. It’s kind of embarrassing. I’m sure they do some digging as well as being handed stuff on a plate but you’re right that it’s as predictable as a clock.

Im not going to monopolise the comment feed (!) but credit where credit is due Gruber has managed to flood all the tech websites – my Google Reader page filled up like it would on a day of dramatic news, so he knows how to market..

Good point.. Not sure it deserves any of the WWDC awards though..(thought quite probably they’ll wangle one!)
I’d love to see who actually buys it given the limited function and sky-high pricing, other than perhaps WWDC attendees and a few others.. I normally would but this is just not worth it as it currently stands.

Perhaps more interesting than the lackluster app itself: An indication of what iOS 7 will look like, UX wise? I mean surely if Gruber chose to launch this days before WWDC he must be fairly confident that in a few days it wont look dreadful… And if Gruber doesnt know what iOS 7 looks like, nobody does..

Prob a case of it being Gruber.. i mean he can always lower the price once those who know/care who he is have bought it!

$600 dollars a year average in vet bills?
Sheesh! What’s going on?
Ive been in a house of dogs all my life and i don’t think we ever spent anywhere near that, with perhaps one exception and that’s when we had to operate on one for a torn ligament. but other than vaccinations 600?? Some vets are making a killing in the US it would seem. Perhaps it’s just cheaper in the Europe?

I cant believe it has taken them so long to bring out what is essentially the same app but formatted for iPad, and then when they did it only half works. Shame really. You’ve written well that everything around them isn’t static, and many of us users are fickle impatient folk!

There was certainly a feeling that they got super arrogant with the whole queue publicity and then actually i find it slow and less useful than the Gmail app, so find myself using it less and less. On the iPad it looks also visually dated – all these curves etc in an era that everything is getting flattened.

Oh how I remember the launch videos of the Xbox 360 and them talking about the sleek design, “breathing in” talk etc.. And how it was (initially) white to target a less game-obsessed audience.. And now oddly it’s going backwards..

The second a high-res panel is available for iMac, this thing (bought in December 2012..) goes out my window. I REALLY hate blurry fuzzy text and it’s a delight to see decent panels on laptops now.
