Anybody that says Lion doesn’t run well is using an older Mac. It really depends on the hardware you are running. Lion is amazing on my 2011 MacBook Pro. If you have older hardware maybe you should think about upgrading to a Mac that is going to have the horsepower to run Mountain Lion and future upgrades.

My buddy is in the same situation. I told him that he would not regret buying a 4S right now. It will still get at least 2 years worth of updates and fully support every feature of iOS 6. Unless LTE is really important to you I don’t see any reason to wait and possibly be disappointed when the “New iPhone” isn’t quite what has been hyped by the rumor mill.
