Did you see it anywhere on the page or did it just stop the upload? All it says when I go to the account page is: You have a Flickr account where you get a free terabyte of space for original photos and HD videos.
And the upload page just says I’ve used <1% of my 1TB.

Oil is produced from decaying plants and animals that are under extreme pressure. If the water has been there that long it’s just bacteria and maybe some microorganisms at most, so no oil.

I assume this is because Bitcoin is considered a foreign currency. Something like the NYSE is in the US and is trading USD so it’s under the SEC, but if you’re exchanging foreign currency for domestic it falls under ICE.

I would assume Salman didn’t read it (maybe just the first paragraph) otherwise he would understand how ironic is post is.

About 2900 words in the article. In 8 minutes that around 360 WPM. Speed readers can go up to 500, so it’s not impossible. The video was shown last night so I’m assuming she didn’t watch it.

I think they’ll keep those other functions where they are for now. The problem is that it’s made for tablets and touchscreens where you just have a sleep button and people wouldn’t use the actual menu button. Absolutely crazy on a desktop, but that’s not what they’re targeting.

Well I guess the issue there is that it’s supposed to be used with a touch interface and you swipe down to close there. Can’t you just hit ESC though to close the app?

The ability for one click uninstalls really depends on the developer. The only reason Mac App Store apps can do it is because they’re heavily restricted in a sandbox. I assume if they get regular desktop apps in the app store this will be the case as well. You probably aren’t going to find Photoshop in there ever. Not just because of the technical limitations, but because a big company like Adobe doesn’t want to give MS a cut.

It’s something that people can see and that they can figure out. Granted, after the first time it’s really just taking up space.

I remember seeing someone with two 24" widescreen monitors and there were literally LAYERS of icons across both screens. He had been working there for 10 years and all his documents were on his desktop. I’m amazed that people don’t understand folder structure. I mean the real physical analogy of file folders is pretty concrete.

Do you blame them for not wanting to incur the cost of training people? Granted some people will go learn on their own, but a lot of people have to be dragged along and that’s a weeks worth of lost productivity and depending on the person, that’s pretty expensive.

They already tried that. It’s called Gadgets. I actually still use the weather gadget on my desktop.
