You dont just buy a company and turn around and start making devices. Motorola already had agreements and devices in the pipeline so as the president of moto said it will take atleast 18 months to get all of those devices out before they can really start making devices with Google new influence. Second didnt Google and Moto agree not to make any nexus devices for a few years to keep their other partners happy? I am pretty sure that was the case. Last even thou moto patent portfolio wasnt the gold mine Google expected it to be, its not a complete lost. Moto has patents that are worth something, still have years of experience in making devices and google did sell the Cable box division for a few billion as well. At the end of the day Moto was the key acquisition they expected to be but im sure Google will be just fine. You win some you lose some.

well for starters google talk did have voice calling only second not everyone wants to use google voice and create a number. Third you can still do a video chat with out video but it would be nice to have it built in directly.

People are just always have problems dealing with change. Hangouts is great. Status arent that useful and arent relevant. If you were going to send a message send it and the person will respond to you when they are available. The purpose of this messaging service is that its an always on service its not a traditional chat service where people sign on or are tied to a computer to where status matter. This isnt the case anymore. The google voice integration is coming and so is the SMS integration which is a needed plus.

My only current gripe with Google Hangouts is i want there to be away for my phone to know that i am chatting on my desktop and not pass the notifications to my phone with out having to snooze hangouts entirely. As far as the status thing people need to get over it. It really wasnt that useful.

Bro I dont get it man. I cant see why people need this soo bad. Did people really pay attention to status that much? If you wanted to contact the person you would. Why do people care soo much about status is beyond me. As you stated they will read your message when they get to it. I hope they dont bring it back because i dont want to be tied to status anyways.
