Again, not my argument. I’ve seen you on the site before, I know you have a particular dislike for Apple so apologies if I’m not responding to you like you’re interested in an actual dialogue, rather than a flame war. I’ve said it before, this is a Verge editorial issue not an Apple issue.

I have no problem with Josh writing that piece. If that’s his opinion then clearly it belongs as one of the main stories on The Verge. However, I have a very hard time believing that there isn’t one talented writer in The Verge office who disagrees with him and deserves a spot to air his opinion on the front page. When every single article you post about a particular company is negative then you start looking less like Reuters and more like Gizmodo. Sadly, that’s what The Verge seems to have become lately. Just another site sacrificing good editorial in order to get its stories picked up elsewhere. I understand the necessity from a business pov, but from a reader’s pov it’s very disappointing.

That’s clearly not what I’m saying. I do, personally, feel that they’re being unfair in their coverage – mainly, because posts critical of Apple tend to get distributed around more widely and I know Josh is a very savvy editor.
What I’m saying is that this seems to happen with every major release. Ross and Ellis hosting the podcast right after the event seemed very impressed. Ross called iOS7 beautiful several times. Then Josh’s op-ed was published a few hours later and everything since has been only critical.
I’m not fanboying here. I’d say the same if I saw it happen with Google or Samsung too. I think The Verge is playing to Digg, Reddit, WSJ, etc. this week rather than putting out good journalism.

A dissenting view from anyone on The Verge staff would be nice for once. It seems Josh wrote that piece after the keynote and everything since coming from The Verge has just reinforced that view.
I’m not saying it’s wrong but this repetitive stream of the same opinions seems to follow every release The Verge has covered recently.

I didn’t have the wave image in a large enough size to keep the close-up, unfortunately.
