I like how everyone thinks that moto getting a head start on new versions of android would be such a bad thing to other oems. It’s not like they quickly get out software updates now.

No offense, but have you guys ever been in a board room? Do you know what laptops everyone there uses? I do – the one the company gave them and said, “this is your new laptop.” Sexy.

While you could be right, I think it is more likely that you work for tmobile….given the fact that this is your only post and your name. Either way, you gave me a headache and I expect reimbursement for the Tylenol I now have to use.

T-mobile was right in their silly scenario, shared data would suck. I agree with you about it being better, though. The scenario that really makes me want shared data is the one I’m in. Neither my girlfriend (I know, nerds don’t have girlfriends) nor I use much data. Generally we use about 1.5 gb combined per month, yet we pay $60 a month for those data plans. Neither of us want dumb phones, so right now we have no choice. If there was a $40 2gb plan, I’d sign up in a heart beat.

No, I’m pretty sure he means ipad. With them having the iPad on their networks, people are consuming a lot more data. Obviously I don’t have any soft of data to back up this claim, but I would wager that an iPad user uses more data than an iPhone one.
Plus you have to consider this scenario. What if someone has an iPhone and pays the $30 a month for data. They also own an iPad, but don’t want to pay another $20-$30 for data. If Verizon or AT&T now offers a shared data pool for say $45, it becomes more tempting for people to add that. Then, not only are they getting an extra $15 from you, but they’ve also cut you off of your old unlimited data. Win win.

This wasn’t a review of any of these devices. It simply gave some information about all of them and is a general tool for helping someone make a decision based on THEIR wants/needs.
I do wish David went into more detail about all of them, but each device could have had its own article. Expecting that in one is unrealistic.

Why don’t you get the released version of those lenses? I’m sure they improved things over the beta versions.

I think the reason for splitting it up is so you don’t just use it and cancel your line. What’s the return policy for Virgin Mobile? If it is two weeks, then this would make sense.

The lack of a small screen, high end spec’d android phone is what drove me to windows phone (not real keen on ios). I should not have to settle for lag on a phone just because I don’t want a giant screen.
If this phone has a 1500mah battery and ships stateside, I’d consider coming back to android. The xperia U and P both have ~1300 mah batteries…so no.

Plenty of people live very comfortable lives outside of the United States. If I had a choice between being comfortable here or comfortable somewhere else + 100’s of millions of dollars, I’d pick the latter, too. It’s not like he is giving up the ability to ever come to the United States again.

I wish things had been different with Tegra 2 and Tegra 3. Now when I hear something about an advance at Nvidia, I just think, “that means the competition will be that plus some 2 months later!” I am sure they are great SOCs, but so many dual cores out performed the tegra 2 and now I think other quads (or dual S4s) will just make Nvidia look bad.

Those are renders, not the actual phone. Stop posting them. Every picture of the actual phone does not look as nice as that. Whether you think it looks nice or not is up to you (I kind of like it), but stop acting like renders = real life.
