It has a long way to go to surpass/replace Zune if that is indeed its purpose. I really hope to see Xbox Music borrow some function from Zune.

BTW, I don’t venture into the forums very much any more. They were really quite nice when the site first launched, but scrolling through endless arguments over the same things in post after post (including article comments) gets really old. As a famous woman once said, “ain’t nobody got time for that.” Well, I suppose there are some that do given the serious amounts of time some of these trolls and extreme fanboys spend arguing back and forth, but I don’t.

To me, it’s still the best place on the internet for tech news and discussion, and we can’t expect the experience to be every person’s idea of perfection so we’ll just keep trusting the moderators to keep doing a fine job, and hopefully this place will remain on top like a boss.

If I were eligible for an upgrade, I’d buy this on day 1. I’d keep my 4s so I can keep using my Apogee MiC, but this would be the most exciting phone purchase for me since I bought a IPAQ a million years ago.

I just want to throw this comment in here because this seems like the best topic for it.

The skeumorphism (sp?) in iOS gets on my nerves for the most part, but there’s one are in particular where it really shines. In Garageband for iOS, the guitar amp head models look beautiful. Not only do they look beautiful but they play to a guitarist’s expectations when it come to choosing an amp (or amp model).

I really think iOS needs a design refresh because the experience has become pretty boring (not the function, but the visual representation) to me. However, I wouldn’t want to throw the baby (Garageband Amp Designs) out with the bath water (the leather notebook bindings).

I’m genuinely curious here. You say “they have a pathetic phone presence,” but I’m not sure if you mean Microsoft or Skype.

I know WP8 is low in terms of market share, but I was under the impression that Skype was ubiquitous.
