My SkyDrive account appeared shut down the other day, and I followed the instructions to reinstate it. There was no mention of what I did to cause them to shut it down at all. The response from tech support said that the account is not shut down and seems to be working properly. I never lost the ability to view my files during this time. It was weird.

My favorite moment is playing co-op split screen Halo 1 on Assault on the Control Room. We accidentally figured out that you could burst through one of the exterior doors, charge the land bridge, and kill all of the elites before they got into the Banshee. Then, the player could hop in the Banshee and skip a good 20 minutes of the level and fly right to the ending. We’d play that level over and over just to do that newly-found mini-game.

I use the iPhone right now, and I find myself struggling to reach those icons that are diagonally across from the bottom sections of the screen without having to slightly re-position the phone in my hand. I grabbed a Lumia 900 at the AT&T store and though the phone felt gigantic. I’m a guy of average height and build, and I play guitar regularly. If I have trouble reaching items on the iPhone’s screen, I think I’d have a lot of time with one-handed navigation on any screen larger than 4 inches.
That being said, I don’t think a virtual trackwheel type of thing is necessary. I think a little scrolling tweak could help. For example, if I’m watching a video in my browser, it’d be nice if I could scroll the whole app down and hit the buttons that were just out of reach. Currently, if I swipe down on the browser, it comes down and bounces back up to the top. This would be an easy solution in my opinion. . . especially if there’s going to be a larger screen coming on the next iPhone.

I’d say the original Zune hardware was a mistake, but the HD was/is a great PMP. I still use mine fairly regularly, and it really is beautiful and intuitive. The only mistake I see on the HD when it comes to hardware is the lack of physical volume controls. Some people probably see this as a plus, though.
They were late to the game, but I don’t think they were too late. However, they didn’t market it well, and as he said, their marketing message was a confused one. It’s hard for me to believe that the music industry was so beholden to Apple and iTunes because, to me, it seems that there was a great opportunity for wider distribution and even lower costs associated with a new provider (Zune).
At any rate, I’m glad they’ve put a lot of focus into Windows Phone, and if that means they had to kill Zune, then so be it.

Mine was the 8700 with Cingular Wireless. I loved that phone.
When I’d demo it for a customer (I sold for Cingular), I’d toss it across the floor to demonstrate the durability of it. That worked like a charm. Scroll wheel FTW! :)

I’m glad they did it. If Microsoft won’t put it out there on iPad, somebody might as well do it. After all, it’s just a design language. If I had an iPad, I’d definitely be getting this. They just need to make an iPhone version now.

Sweet! It’s pretty hard to keep all of the different Microsoft services straight in my head. This should go a long way toward helping that.

I heard a report yesterday that claimed the deal would possibly give Microsoft a leg up in the area of text books. Can’t remember what I was listening to at the time or if it is even partially true but there you go. :)

Wow. I’ve been using since I was a kid and Windows 7 for about a year. I need to commit some of these to memory. . . starting with the Win + Arrow key one.
Thanks, guys and gals!
