Living in Nagoya, Japan. Enjoy working in Office 2010 on Windows 7 (secured with MSE), scheduling/emailing with Outlook, taking notes with OneNote, browsing with IE9, syncing/sharing with Mesh and SkyDrive, socializing via Windows Live Messenger and Skype, searching with Bing, listening with Zune, going mobile with Windows Phone, and playing with Xbox 360. Refuse to use Google. Recovering from a decade of Apple addiction.

Is there any hope for privacy left?
I function in several roles that require me to have secrets about what I do online. My contacts, my email, my social networking status, my online status, my searches, and the pages I visit should not be automatically shared with others.
I don’t want my social networking posts or sites I’ve visited to show up in my contacts’ search results.
I don’t want people browsing my social networking profile and people I’ve marked as my friends when they search for me as a contact in gmail.
I never want any service or website anywhere to announce to other users that I am online. Ever.
I want to social network with friends, based on things I choose to post without giving the social network information about what I do outside their site.
I want control over my contact/email information so it isn’t suddenly be covered by new privacy policies without my knowledge or permission.
I want search to give me objective answers for my queries, so I learn and come across new information as I research.
My Skype contacts are different from my outlook contacts are different from my webmail contacts are different from my social networking contacts. ON PURPOSE. The information I use these for is different. ON PURPOSE. Integrating email, search, social and IM is not what I want, but each of these services is growing into all the other parts and there’s no way to stop it… Even trying to start over with new things doesn’t work because all my legacy data is still in these accounts that are being integrated, and I don’t get to say no.

I have 5 monitors, at home and in the office, that all have HDMI but not display port that I probably won’t be upgrading or replacing for at least 5 years (displays have a much longer useful life than the computers attached to them). My conditions may not apply to you, but they are my conditions. I want HDMI and no miniDP.

Uses display port for video out. ;( My next mobile computer must have an HDMI port for me to consider a purchase. Even the USB3 dock only has DVI.

It’s on the list of things to do… Apparently the site has more important issues to fix first. Like this edit box….

I’m waiting for a vaio series z spec tablet with video card dock…… I want it so bad that I may just get the laptop and be done with it since the premium tablet is likely coming later than the first release of win8

If you want the whole screen in the clipboard, print screen, alt+print screen for your current window. You can paste in Skype without specifically saving to a file first. Windows+print screen saves a whole screen screenshot directly to the desktop in win8cp… But win+s is really sweet

I’m posting using my IS12T right now. Unless there are no other windows phones in your market (which happens to be true here in Japan) this probably is not the phone you want. The outer shell is made of creaky plastic with mushy buttons and a camera that takes at least 5 or 6 seconds to focus, shoot, and save your photo. The saving grace of this phone is that he OS and ecosystem are so good, but without carrier support you may have trouble getting software updates, etc.

Well how about an IB upgrade to Levono’s x series convertible… I could probably see a pre-win8 release coming of this product….
