In Malaysia, the Internet plays a heavy role in the toppling of the ruling coalition that is expected to happen today. Malaysians will always have a desire to be free because we know, we read the Verge, NYT, Malaysiakini, Facebook, etc and we use them as a tool to achieve freedom. The government did not shut it down before, now they will never be able to do so, BN or PR. There is a beautiful saying for this: you can’t stop birds from reaching the rooftop by removing the ladders.
