This serves as yet another illustration that the industry is growing faster than the antiquated laws, that govern commerce, can evolve. It’s no different than Apple keeping it’s cash offshore, or companies being incorporated in Luxembourg, or Delaware for that matter, or banks in the isle-of-man etc.
The US immigration system is broken; there is no other way to say it. A visitor can come in on a tourist visa and give birth to a child who gets a passport, yet an entrepreneur on an E-2 visa who started a million dollar a year business and employs ten americans, must renew their visa every two years with no hope of ever gaining residency.
Even in online streaming, the studio’s have imposed a 28 day embargo to protect sales rather than encouraging adoption. It’s not too dissimilar from the early days of DRM with mp3 players.
Issues of sales tax, personal tax, streaming rights and territories, the list goes on. Rather than hold on to these obsolete notions, the u.s could spearhead developments and facilitate progress rather than stand in the way. All this is the result of old world management trying to stay relevant in business in the new world.

i don’t understand why this shithead can’t be prosecuted for fraud. If he was dumb enough to get in front of the camera, i doubt he was using a fake IP address. If they can find mr. dot com in new zealand, surely this guy’s mother’s basement can’t be that far away.
