No, I have tried it. Warning bells go off whenever I see a website that looks like an advert for Apple products, but I usually give them a go anyway. But as expected, the site is heavy on animations and decoration and showing off, rather than getting out of the way so I can read articles.

I find it really clunky. Gratuitous animations everywhere. Typical “trying too hard” hipster stuff.

They all suck, though. This NewsBlur site is yet another hipster product that focuses on being pretty rather than functional. Warning bells go straight off when you load up the homepage, and it’s a picture of a Macbook and an iMac, with Daring Fireball on screen. That’s almost always an indication that the underlying product is probably not going to be very functional.
