You can’t beat free with a $5 app? What does that mean? (and obviously it didn’t matter to you, having already bought Instapaper)

Careful not to dismiss him because he likes a crazy person. Oh yeah.. that really was the icing on the cake of this amazing rant.

Woah, I had no idea that was even possible (the whole latest shows on an SD card, watch on your phone, etc). That’s really cool.
Still, I think you are totally off course here. Most people are not tech savvy enough to pull that off. Certainly not the average Android or iOS user.

If you want to go that route (another HDD) then I would certainly go with OWC as their products are awesome and their support even better. Not sure I would trust some $20 one from Amazon.
That being said, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this for everybody. If you’re getting along just fine with one hard drive, then I would try to continue this way. Why?
Two words: battery life.
I’m doing exactly what Igor spoke of (using the optical bay as my HDD with the SSD in the other slot). And it really hurts battery life to use both of these drives.
Give it a shot without first and see if you can live with it. Depending on how you use your laptop, it can really make or break the experience.

I would really recommend against getting a keyboard/case in one. The very nature of it leaves you with a really small keyboard that’s uncomfortable to use. And the build quality on most suck anyway.
For purely the best keyboard.. you might roll your eyes but Apple’s own wireless keyboard is actually one of (if not) the best out there. And this isn’t just my opinion; many reviews have found it to be the case. Of course, it’s not backlit, so if that’s really important to you, you’re going to have to look elsewhere. That and, of course, it’s pricey at $69.
Oh, and I recommend a simple back case + Smart Cover combo. Again, pricey : )
Good luck, and enjoy your new iPad

Haha exactly. Picture only slightly in focus? Tilt-shift the hell out of it and make it seem like it was intentional!

I have to agree. I’ve purchased Instacast HD (iPad) and Downcast, and I’ve really struggled to use Instacast. I have no problem with the pricing model; I’m really more than happy to support great design/development. But I find it near impossible to get around with Instacast. I’ve tried to keep an open mind because I did start out with Downcast, but I keep running into walls.
While Instacast is admittedly prettier than Downcast (although it’s not that huge of a difference), the navigation is really difficult to manage. Just trying to skip around within an episode is hard work. Everything has to be done within a tiny pop-up window. This is in contrast with Downcast’s huge banner at the top with the play/pause/skip/etc. While it may seem less elegant to go the Downcast way of showing it all the time, I actually much prefer it. I could go on, but I really recommend that users try a few different options out. See what works best with your workflow podcastflow (?).
