The problem was somewhat related to Nvidia 3D drivers.. MS fixed it in a patch in late FEB but by then all the files had been created already.. So it didnt delete those. I recovered almost 15gb deleting those!

and i have unistalled the 3D drivers because i dont use them. And i have posted this solution but u nailed the problem :) thank u for searching for it.

no.. windows shouldnt take so much space. I cant waste that space for Drive C.. i have fixed the problem.. i have 16gb free now :) so plenty !

Yes ..But there is another problem now.. and its that windows 8 when it updates its Metro Apps.. u can still find the folder of old apps in the apps folder .. and it doesnt erase automatically. For native apps i have noticed the last 3 versions are saved. For other apps its sometimes just one. So this is another place MS needs to work on. I wish windows was more like Windows Phone in terms of ease of use. Its ok for me. I love it. But for a beginner.. he wont ever understand why it needs so much storage.

deleting those files have saved up 15GB of DATA!!!

i have installed the update. And removed 3d nvidia drivers as some people reported that making those files!

now i will see if those files grow back! WOOOH!!! HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR 5 MONTHS!!! FINALLY!

Softwares are all standard like they always were from Vista times! no new software.
Any idea whats the unknown data? And well to be very honest my C drive used to be 35gigs.. when i had windows 7.. and i always had 2Gb free..

so it was fine .. but for windows 8 i increased it to 50gb so i could install some metro apps. But they are taking just 1gb total.. so i dont know why windows 8 is doing this.

Hey guys.. sorry for the late reply.. And no.. i have system restore taking just 100mb.. and other stuff off..

I did try that awesome software.. and i think i have found the problem..

here is a screenshot That YELLOW BOX.. its something unknown to the software and its taking around 15gb of free space.. this is the exact space that would otherwise be free. Any idea what it is and how to fix it?

well then tell me how do all those 64gb tablets make sense?? I have all my data on another HDD.. i keep the windows HDD with 3 partitions. C D E.. C is windows.. D is data E is games!

I cant merge them because i want to keep them seperated as if ever windows die i can easily format C.

i would want to do that myself but these icons take too long to think over and then design.
All these icons took me an hour each.. and 15min prep time to think out the design.
