“Microsoft account” isn’t slapping on everything. The apps are getting renamed with short, descriptive names. It absolutely is an improvement, in my book.
…now, the Windows Live Calendar, Contacts, and MSN Messenger will be renamed in a fashion similar to Windows Phone. They’ll just be known as the Calendar, People, and Messaging apps, respectively
All services will be tied to your Microsoft account. Simple.
+1 on the Mesh/Skydrive sync thing, though. This seems to be the same functionality (through the same back end, no doubt) with different branding.

No offense taken, because I doubt it too. I expected to see a wall of mindless “M$ paid them off!” comments. So, shame on me for bringing up a comment I didn’t want to see in the first place. Ugh.

There are actually a lot of really good board games that have come out in the last 10-15 years (check out Rio Grande Games, for example).
I find that board games and card games are a great way to spend quality time with friends — face to face. And it’s chance not to stare at glowing rectangles. I’d encourage everyone to do this at least once a week.
