Copy Paste Character has been making it easier to type obscure symbols since 2008, and in a total website revamp has increased the number of characters by an astonishing amount. Previously it offered around 100 symbols, but that number's now up to almost 4,000, making it a surprisingly handy resource. For all those unicode icons hidden behind behind esoteric key combinations, all you have to do is click on the character on the website, and it's copied to your clipboard.

The website update also brings a new way of organizing these characters, dividing them into eleven different sets, like "graphic shapes" or "numerals." If you sign up for the website or link in your Facebook account, you can build your own sets of your favorites, and share them via Twitter, Facebook, and custom URLs. The creators are promising more characters and sets are on the way. Sure, it's not every day that you want to communicate with someone entirely by pictograms, but when you do it's nice to have them all in one place.
