AT&T promised summer launches for its first LTE devices, and it's living up to the promise by delivering the USBConnect Momentum 4G and Mobile Hotspot Elevate 4G (yes, those are the full, proper names) on Sunday, August 21st for $49.99 and $69.99, respectively. Both prices require a new two-year contract. Data pricing will come in at $50 for 5GB with overage of $10 per GB, which matches Verizon's pricing byte for byte.
For existing owners of the USBConnect Adrenaline, they'll have access to a firmware upgrade that enables LTE support beginning August 26th, but there's a catch: today's news isn't directly tied to availability of the actual LTE network on which these devices operate. In the meantime, buyers will be getting HSPA+ speeds where available -- and it shouldn't be much longer before AT&T's first LTE markets go live -- but you shouldn't expect to be getting an LTE signal on day one.
