It seemed like HTC and LG would duke it out for the title of best 3D smartphone, but the LG Thrill 4G has been perpetually delayed -- it was due "in the coming weeks" as of late July, and here it is nearly September. You've only got a few more days to wait, though, as AT&T's official Twitter account has given us the first firm date: the handset formerly known as the Optimus 3D will arrive on September 4th. Assuming that time wasn't spent replacing all the internals, you can expect the following specs: a 1GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4430 chip with 512MB of dual-channel RAM running Android 2.2 on a 4.3-inch glasses-free 800 x 480 3D display, with a pair of 5-megapixel cameras around back that can capture up to 1080p video, and an HDMI 1.4 port to share that footage on your 3D HDTV. And in case Android 2.2 sounds a little outdated, that doesn't mean the Thrill will be for long -- recall that AT&T's promised Android 2.3 Gingerbread for every 2011 device.
