AT&T announces Samsung Captivate Glide and DoubleTime, Motorola Atrix 2, Pantech Pocket, and AT&T Avail

AT&T has just announced some five new Android devices in a single shot, all of which will launch between now and the end of the year. First up is the well-leaked Atrix 2 from Motorola, featuring 21Mbps HSPA+ capability, 1080p video capture from an 8-megapixel camera promising "faster viewfinder start-up and shutter speeds than a digital camera," a 4.3-inch qHD display, 8GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM, a 1GHz dual-core processor (presumably a TI OMAP 4), and support for Moto's venerable Webtop technology through a new Lapdock 100 companion device which we've seen recently.

Next up is the Captivate Glide, a landscape QWERTY slider whose spec sheet falls somewhere between the Galaxy S-based Captivate and the Galaxy S II that AT&T just launched in recent days. Features include 21Mbps data, 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p capture and HDMI playback, and a couple of unusual specs that remind us a bit of late 2010 and early 2011: a 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display and a 1GHz Tegra 2 processor, not the Samsung Exynos silicon that the company has been pushing as of late.

Moving downmarket, the DoubleTime -- also from Samsung -- features a 600MHz processor, 3.2-megapixel camera, Android 2.2 (yes, 2.2), and a 3.2-inch display at HVGA resolution. Nothing too exciting there, but the bright color scheme should attract some buyers -- not to mention the fact that the phone flips out, clamshell style, to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard.

The Pantech Pocket is an odd, almost squarish design that features a 4-inch SVGA display -- that's an aspect ratio of 4:3, which explains the shape. It's loaded with Android 2.3 and has about 2.5GB of usable storage out of the box (including a 2GB microSD card), good for making use of that 5-megapixel camera with HD video capture.

Finally, the AT&T Avail -- sourced from ZTE -- is the carrier's second prepaid Android device (the LG Thrive being the first), equipped with a 3.5-inch display, Android 2.3, 512MB of both ROM and RAM on board, a 5-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, and a 2GB microSD card in the box.

Pricing and availability for most of these is "to be announced at a later date," with one key exception: the Atrix 2 launches on October 16th for $99.99 on a two-year contract with no rebate. That's a pretty aggressive deal considering the specs and Webtop compatibility -- though naturally the Webtop accessories (like the new Lapdock) will come at an additional cost. Follow the break for a gallery of all five devices.
