The long wait for a new iPhone for 2011 has ended, with deliveries of the 4S now going out to those who pre-ordered and stores across the United States opening early to let others grab one too. Retail availability of the iPhone 4S has already been a fact of life elsewhere around the globe, with the UK, France, Germany, Japan, and Australia beating the US by a few hours. Apple's latest smartphone will be available both unlocked and on contract in most of those locales, however in the US the unlocked variant has been delayed until November. Until then, you can get yours for $199 (16GB), $299 (32GB), or $399 (64GB), with a choice of carrier for your two-year contract; AT&T, Verizon and Sprint will all have the iPhone 4S in stock today.
