Sony has released firmware version 1.03 for two of its Alpha DSLR models, the SLT-A77 and SLT-A65. It's mostly a bugfix update, promising to increase the responsiveness of the cameras' control dials and function buttons, which should make plenty of users happy — a few A77 owners have posted videos on YouTube showing a lag between spinning the control dial and the aperture or shutter speed actually changing, and though it's not a significant lag it's definitely noticeable. The update also brings faster switching between the electronic viewfinder and Live Mode, support for Sony's high-end Macro Twin Flash Kit, and "other functional improvement." Hit the source to get the new firmware, which is only available from Sony Asia's site.
