Before you set your heart on Asus' just-announced quad-core Transformer Prime, hear us out a second -- Asus chairman Jonney Shih just told us that the Asus Padfone will come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich early next year. He announced the news on the Asia D stage, where it sounded like timing isn't set in stone for the combination phone-and-tablet device; Shih said that he's still working with cellular carriers and that a Q1 2012 release date is only the "current timing." Of course, this is already a slight slip from the holiday timeframe we had heard back at Computex, but at least we know the product is still in the works and absolutely getting a helping of ICS.
